As the senior developer assigned to Farmers Insurance, our largest client, I worked closely with developers, QA engineers, and project managers to deliver new features and maintain the infrastructure of the Farmers® Agency Growth Platform, which serves millions of insurance agents nationwide. I architected and maintained robust RESTful APIs using Django Rest Framework, ensuring seamless data exchange between the frontend and backend while optimizing performance, security, and scalability. To enhance system responsiveness, I implemented Celery for efficient asynchronous task processing. On the frontend, I utilized Vue.js, Nuxt, Pinia, and Tailwind CSS to develop dynamic, user-friendly interfaces that improved the overall user experience and interaction.
Drift Net provides multi-layered safety & security solutions to school communities. Their products address issues such as emergency prevention and preparation, threat identification, and crisis response. I personally led the team that pioneered the KnowWhat Risk & Emergency Management system, a comprehensive ecosystem of innovative safety & security tools that attempts to help administrators, teachers, and staff account for the dynamic nature of hazards and threats. I can't provide images of the KnowWhat system itself due to an NDA, but the images presented here are of the Drift Net webpage, which I also designed, created, and implemented.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Mess Marketing team, I shipped a progressive web app for the Chicago Architecture Center’s Open House Chicago event. The client needed a tool for users to navigate the event independently, offering expert audio commentary, detailed site information, and interactive maps. Optimized for mobile and tablet use, the app was built with Vue.js, Vite, Nuxt, Axios, TailwindCSS, Docker, and PostgreSQL for a seamless user experience. As the lead engineer, I coordinated with the Chicago Architecture team to align on goals while overseeing the app’s architecture, core functionality, and usability. On the frontend, I set up routing and navigation with Nuxt, built reusable Vue components, and developed pages based on client designs. On the backend, I architected the PostgreSQL database and ensured smooth frontend communication. I also integrated email signups and newsletter communication via MailChimp to keep users informed. This project showcases my versatility, strong communication skills, and ability to deliver high-quality, user-centric applications.
